The M Center -- rapidly becoming a major hub for arts learning serving up professional opportunities with each program, has created a new place for aspiring singers.

Reverend Mary & the M Band, a group of professional singers and musicians lead by Mary E. Micari, offers vocal opportunities to students. Their first series of recordings: the MDemo, features vocals by budding recording artist Mario Claudio. Other students will be invited to perform back-up as well as featured work.

Micari, a professional singer both in pop and theater, leads a group that includes Robert "Cricket" Cohen, who musical background spans 40 years; Dan Furman, a composer and musical director; and A.G. Liebowitz, guitarist and special photographer with photos in the New York Times and TimeOutNY. All band members are Brooklyn residents.

The band is now looking at various Brooklyn venues for potential gigs.
