Portland Ovations Confirms Local Performers for POP!, 10/1

POP! (Portland Ovations Presents) is an evening of food, fun and performance that kicks off the new season and helps raise money to support Portland Ovations' school-and community-based arts-programs, Ovations Offstage. The party takes place on Wednesday, October 1st at 5:30pm inside The Portland Company Complex at 58 Fore Street, Portland.

This arts celebration transforms the Portland Company into a bustling indoor street fair with "pop-up" performances, delicious foods from some of Southern Maine's best-loved restaurants, and extraordinary auction items - including some Ovations' exclusives! This year attendees will be entertained by the Maine Marimba Ensemble, Portland Arts and Technology High School (PATHS) dancers, and students from the Circus Conservatory of America.

The proceeds from POP! enables Ovations Offstage to offer a School-Time Performance series that connects schools, teachers and students to the performing arts, as well as in-school workshops with artists and artist-educators; Masterclasses and workshops with visiting artists; free pre-performance lectures by local Maine experts; arts happenings around town; study guides and other educational resources for students and educators, available for free through Portland Ovations' website.

POP! happens on October 1st at The Portland Company, 58 Fore Street in Portland and begins at 5:30pm. Tickets are $25 for Portland Ovations Members, $35 in advance for the general public and $40 at the door. To purchase tickets please call Portland Ovations at (207) 773-3150.
