Lucky Hound Music - a new independent artist development label uniquely committed to building careers of music artists from "the ground up" - has launched, offering support in every aspect of music and visual production facilities, publishing and licensing, as well as marketing and distribution.

"In an industry of constant change, how artists and their music is made and experienced by fans demands an attention to authenticity and quality," said Grammy-winning engineer/producer Stuart Sullivan, a principal partner with Lucky Hound Music. "That's why our approach is to build everything with the artist - from the art to the career - from the ground up."

Lucky Hound's team includes a diverse group of business minds and production experts, including licensing, publishing and distribution partners based in LA, New York and Nashville, and recording and video production partners and facilities based just outside Austin. To support its artist needs, Lucky Hound Music utilizes the world-class audio and sound stage production campus of the Studios At Fischer in the Texas Hill Country, as well as other facilities in key markets around the country.

"We're strategically located in the four major creative markets in the U.S., where we have access for our artists to key film/TV industry leaders and influencers, as well as the best producers, engineers, songwriters, and marketing gurus in the business," said Steven Durr, another of the principal partners with Lucky Hound Music. "Today's music industry is so diverse that's it's important for artists, especially those in the early stages of their careers, to be connected to the right people who can open doors on multiple levels of the business."

Lucky Hound Music will focus on developing the careers of both new talent as well as seasoned artists.

In conjunction with its official launch, Lucky Hound Music is also announcing the signing of its first two artists - singer/songwriter Matthew Bell and the Next of Kin, and singer/songwriter Lani Nash. Bell is a young musical phenom who blends skillful folk instrumentals with stirring lyrics to create penetrating soulful grooves. Nash is a seasoned folk/pop artist whose poignant lyrics and soothing vocals capture the hearts of audiences of all ages."Matthew and his band reflect the kind of authentic, passionate artist Lucky Hound Music wants to support and develop," said Steve Hennig, veteran producer/engineer and another of the Lucky Hound Music principal partners. "Opportunities for success are all around us. But every artist needs access to the best possible resources in order to make things happen."

Hennig added that "Lani is one of those rare triple threat artists who writes, produces and performs her own work. As one of the most respected singer/songwriters in Nashville, with deep family roots in country music, her most recent single release even hit the top 40 on the Americana charts."

Lucky Hound Music - The Principals

Steve Hennig.
Visionary producer, composer, musician, engineer. Literally born into the business, Steve got his start in his family's music retail enterprise - the Heart of Texas Music store, then pivoted into a successful career that has spanned three decades, composing and performing with music legends from Johnny Rodriguez to Eric Johnson, as well as engineering and producing critically-acclaimed records and TV programs like the Dukes of Hazard.

Stuart Sullivan.
Grammy-winning engineer, producer. Stuart's extensive experience in creating award-winning and top-selling records for the past 26 years knows no boundaries. Indie to traditional country. Blues to punk. Big band to classical. Some of the biggest names - from Willie Nelson to Sublime - in all these genres share one thing in common when they work with Stuart - they all get a music product of the highest quality.

Steven Durr.
World-renown acoustic designer, engineer, producer. Regarded by major artists, producers and venues - from Mark Ronson and Billy Joel, to the New Orleans Jazz Festival, Austin City Limits and the Library of Congress - as "the last outpost" of common sense in all aspects of audio recording and LIVE performance, Steve has turned his passion and ear for perfect music and sound into a reputation as one of the best - and therefore among the most sought after - engineering minds on the planet.

Kelleigh Drennon.
Lead audio engineer. With an IQ that offers an uncanny blend of edgy, youthful creativity coupled with disciplined multi-engineering skill sets, Kelleigh is the brain behind the console, meticulously plotting and executing audio recordings that bring out the emotion of the performance from the artist who is fortunate to be able to work with her.

Pat & Tracie Drennon.
Founders, Lucky Hound Masters. Pat is a respected engineer/executive by trade with a true passion in photography, which prompted his initial plans to build a single photo studio against the backdrop of the majestic Texas Hill Country. Tracie brought an eclectic style to the project, making it warm and inviting. The combination of Pat's inclusion of technical flexibility, and the 'vibe' brought to the forefront by Tracie, helped them attract some of the industry's best minds to launch the ultimate full-service, artist-centric label that could utilize all these resources and much more. That association with such a diverse group of talented people resulted in a greater vision - to build a massive, all-in-one, state-of-the-art video/audio campus with a film/TV production sound stage, recording studios, and the infrastructure to market talent and services to the central part of the country.
