Legendary artist and activist, Joan Baez has invited longtime fiends Mary Chapin Carpenter and Indigo Girls to perform with her at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday, April 7. The 32nd Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The ceremony will have its television premiere on HBO and a radio broadcast on SiriusXM.
Additionally, Baez will reissue three previous recordings-originally released on Gold Castle Records-as a special edition three-CD box set with extensive liner notes and additional material on Friday, April 7. The 30 collective tracks contained on Recently (originally released July 1987), Diamonds and Rust in the Bullring (recorded live in Bilbao, Spain, 1988, released April 1989) and Speaking of Dreams (November 1989) hold their own as some of the greatest song selection sequences of Joan's entire discography. All three Gold Castle titles were produced by Alan Abrahams. You can pre-order the box set HERE.Baez began working with Gold Castle Records in 1987 at the invitation of music industry veteran and company founder Danny Goldberg. The three records that resulted represent the virtual halfway point of her professional career.
In June, Baez, Carpenter and Indigo Girls Amy Ray and Emily Saliers will share the stage in a highly anticipated special group performance as Four Voices. These exclusive summer tour dates will include stops at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium with a second show added due to popular demand, Chicago's Chicago Theatre and Toronto's Massey Hall among many others. Tickets are on-sale now except for their show at Grand Rapids' Meijer Gardens, which goes on sale in April. See below for a complete tour itinerary.Videos
