Dead Bars Announce Tour, Single, and New Home at A-F Records!

Dead Bars have announced a tour around their appearance at The Fest, as well as a new limited edition single and a new home at A-F Records (see Brooklyn Vegan track/news premiere)!

Dead Bars are a punk rock band from Seattle, WA. Founded by vocalist and songwriter John Maiello in 2013, and joined later by C.J. Frederick, Jon Oddo, and Elliot Thordarson, the band has released five 7-inches in five years. They released their first LP "Dream Gig" with No Idea Records in 2017. Dead Bars' music is described by Razorcake as "a lot like what the Ramones did-make something impossible to duplicate look so simple and attainable." Dead Bars have toured with Iron Chic, After The Fall, The Tim Version, Garrett Dale, and more.

The band has a limited edition single to be released October 5th, 2018 in Italy. Only 100 copies of toxic yellow color vinyl available in the U.S. direct from them on tour this fall. The single includes a cover of Guided By Voices "Gold Star For Robot Boy". They were motivated to do this cover because they had a GBV cover band called Hot Freaks in 2017, which at various points featured members of Shellshag and Ramona and was spearheaded by Dead Bars guitarist C.J. Frederick.

Dead Bars have also announced a new LP to be released on A-F Records (Anti-Flag, Homeless Gospel Choir) in 2019. "When I accidentally saw Dead Bars at a bar in Pittsburgh two years ago, I started a journey." says Chris Stowe of A-F Records, adding "After their show, I bought their first album 'Dream Gig' immediately and it has had a weekly rotation on my turntable since. So yea, as kind of a big fan, I'm pretty stoked to get to put out their follow up to 'Dream Gig."
