Author J. P. Wolfe's debut novel, "Cluster Phuk: Phuk~N~Shanks Series" (published by Archway Publishing), is a new detective series that follows the adventures of Detective Gill Phuk and Hattie Shanks. Part rescue mission, part espionage, "Cluster Phuk" draws upon tantalizing clues that twist, turn and intertwine with a rich cast of characters.

The book begins in the small town of Punta Gorda, Florida, where young Bobby Weeks messes around in his dad's belongings and takes an old game, setting off a deadly crazy chain of events. Detectives Phuk and Shanks are called in to investigate when things go awry. Thugs and suspicious beauties run amok in this small historic town as two tough detectives try to stop crime, solve a mystery and save the day.

Between the fast-action scenes is a narrative that venerates the power of loyalty and friendship - regardless of the stakes - and the importance of finding a sense of belonging. Wolfe combines action, humor and learned nods to film noir.

"'Cluster Phuk" takes us through tales of people in difficult situations making catastrophically poor choices, and the trouble they get themselves into," says Wolfe. "It's what the characters do despite their failings, particularly the point where Phuk decides to intervene in his own story, that adds depth and intrigue."
