The guy playing Gaston looks like he's about 20. And the actress playing Gigi looks very contemporary to me. Did they move the timeline up on the story?

Thanks. Wish I lived in Washington. Would like to see what they did with it. The promo looks very different than what I would expect of the musical itself, knowing its storyline.

Is "very contemporary" supposed to mean "not white"?

Um, no. "Very contemporary" meaning the way she is dressed and made up in the promo. Which makes the character look a little more contemporary than the turn-of-the-century setting.
I wish it was opening next month as I'll be back in NYC and I'd really like to see this.
