My name is Eugénie Dumont, I am French, 23 years old. I arrived in China one year ago and in the Beijing Playhouse months later. I am currently a French teacher at the Beijing Foreign Languages School. I also occasionally replace my Canadian colleagues for their English classes.I completed my Bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Le Havre. I studied theatre during the two first years with a teacher fond of Harold Pinter’s works. I spent the last year of my degree studying at the Latvian Academy of Culture in Riga. I studied miscellaneous subjects like Diplomacy, Visual Representation of Figurative Thought, theory and practice of theatre with a focus on Theatre in the Baltic States. I created a play with a French teacher and a Latvian student.
That incredibly rich year enabled me to expand my knowledge and even to be the first student in my university.
After my Bachelor’s, I stayed at the Academy for three months to study stage directing in one of the two troupes – the Latvian one. I then went back to my Master's degree and finished the first year in six months before going to China. I recently finished my thesis.
