YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA (James Bundy, Dean; Victoria Nolan, Deputy Dean) presents MAN=MAN by Bertolt Brecht, translated by Gerhard Nellhaus, directed by Erik Pearson, October 28-November 1 at the New Theater (1156 Chapel Street, New Haven).

Inspired by silent cinema, clown, and song, this production of Brecht’s MAN=MAN tells the tale of a peaceable porter transformed by a gang of soldiers into a ruthless killing machine. This grotesque farce confronts pressing questions of personal accountability and the value of individuality: is one man as good as any other? At what cost do we betray our identity?

MAN=MAN features sets by Timothy Brown, costumes by Lisa Loen, lights by Marie Yokoyama, and sound by Nathan A. Roberts.

The cast of 15 includes Eddie Brown, Eric Bryant, Rene Bystron, Carter Gill, Slate Holmgren, Alex Knox, Teresa Avia Lim, Christopher McFarland, Quincy O’Neal, Luke Robertson, Ken Robinson, Jordan Schneider, Erica Sullivan, Alex Teicheira, and Liz Wisan.

For this production, Yale School of Drama has created an online video blog which allows audience members to follow the creative process of the piece, including access to rehearsals and interviews with the creative team and cast.  The video blog is available one three websites: drama.yale.edu, You Tube, and Facebook).
