By: BWW News Desk
Performers from Broadway's Spring Awakening, Annie Get Your Gun, Three Penny Opera, 42nd Street, Xanadu, Off-Broadway's Twist, Disappearing Acts, The Toxic Avenger and national tours of Joseph, Kiss Me Kate and Grease come together at The Duplex, 61 Christopher St. on Friday, September 10th at 7:00pm and Friday, September 17th at 9:30pm to raise funds for a feature length documentary, in production, "WALK WITH ME", a project of aya arts and media.
Both concerts are open to the public and will include an evening of hilarity and song along with raffle prizes of donated goods and services to raise funds for the film's post-production costs. "The documentary is a tribute to the legacy of arts activism showing that theater offers us a chance to actively experience our own humanity for personal and communal transformation. I am so honored that Marti and these performers are donating their time and talent for the film," says, Tanisha Christie, who is producing and directing the film with Ellie Walton and co-producer Cat Mallone.Celina Carvajal from 42nd Street

There is a rarely shown, image of artists who use the performing arts in more intimate, obscure settings - woman's shelters, schools and community centers. "WALK WITH ME" is a feature-length documentary that follows three generations of women who use theater to inspire, stir and challenge the status quo revealing how one person - one artist - can make a difference.
