Award-winning radio personality Valerie Smaldone will guest-star in Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell from May 8 – 13 at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane, Greenwich Village). The critically acclaimed Off-Broadway play is a tribute to the work of legendary monologist Spalding Gray, directed by Lucy Sexton. The show, which opened in March, stars Kathleen Chalfant, Hazelle Goodman, Ain Gordon, Tony-winner Frank Wood and a rotating special guest actor.

"Spalding Gray was an icon of storytelling. I am honored to make my Off-Broadway debut in this special production and excited to lend my voice to the powerful words of one of our finest master storytellers," says Smaldone from her office at 106.7 LITE FM, where she a five-time Billboard award-winning midday personality.

Producer Michael Alden says, "I first met Valerie during a production of The Last Session, which I was producing in New York. An already established radio personality, Valerie expressed her desire to become more involved with theater. So as a good producer, I asked her for money. In the last ten years, we have partnered for art and charity and along the way created a wonderful friendship. I have always supported Valerie to perform in other mediums and I am delighted to have her on stage with Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell."

Valerie Smaldone (www.ValerieSmaldone.com) has always loved the stage. She recently made her Broadway debut as a guest speller in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Last year, she performed with Ally Sheedy and Karthryn Erbe in a production of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues that benefited V-Day, the global movement to end violence against women and girls. She has also appeared in Spit it Out!, a play with music she cowrote, which was accepted into the 2005 Midtown International Theater Festival. The 2007 New York Emmy Gala Awards, Broadway Meets Country, Broadway Under the Stars and Broadway on Broadway, to name a few, have all welcomed Smaldone to their stages.
