"The Mad Ones," a timely new play written by Frank J. Avella, explores our current culture of celebrity and how power and fame create public figures who often break the rules and get away with it--especially when it comes to sexual assault. The reading will take place on October 28, 2016 at 6PM at the Dramatists Guild in The Mary Rodgers Room, 1501 Broadway, Suite 710, NYC.

The cast includes: Joshua Dixon ("Vatican Falls"), Cali Gilman ("Lured"), Kalen J. Hall ("New York 2150") & Emily McNamara ("NEWSical The Musical"). Stage Directions to be read by Ian Whitt ("Lured").

Central to "The Mad Ones" is the struggle a young closeted-gay movie star who must contend with keeping his sexuality a secret so he can continue to pursue his passion. The play-within-the play examines the life of a famous film director accused of raping a 13-year-old girl. The play runs 90 minutes.
