On June 15, Tony-winner Lea Salonga and Glee star Darren Criss sang "A Whole New World" from Disney's Aladdin at After the Storm, a benefit concert for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

Salonga was the singing voice of two Disney princesses (Jasmine [1992], Mulan [1998]) in their respective films, but she and Criss had a separate connection to this song. The two performed the duet at Alan Menken's tribute concert in 2011, and again at a piano bar in West Village.

Lea Salonga is best known for originating the lead role of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon for which she won the Olivier, Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics and Theatre World awards. She was also the first Asian to play the roles of Éponine and Fantine in the musical LES MISERABLES on Broadway.

In addition to his role of Blaine Anderson on Glee, Darren Criss played J. Pierrepont Finch in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING on Broadway in 2012.
