Ryan Link Stars in Utah's Crying Reading, March 15 & 16

Métropole Ink and Hard Count Productions (Toronto) will produce a reading of Darryl Costello's new rock opera Utah's Crying on March 15 and 16th at the Abingdon's June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street, 1st Floor).

Directed by Matthew Hamel, the story centers around a young musician's struggle to be heard amidst the world of pre-packaged music and moving through his younger years alongside his best friend, Annabelle, who encounters struggles of her own.

The cast will include Ryan Link (Rent on Broadway, soon to be seen in "The Bedford Diaries" on The WB) as Utah and Veronica Reyes (national tours of Rent and Footloose) as Annabelle. Lynnette Marrero, Casey Gensler, Chris Fuller, Charlie Parker, Derek Travis Collard, Phillip Paul Kelly, Rachel Brennan, Gerard Salvador, Joe Kokofsky, Josie Andrews and others to be announced will also be featured in the show. Joe Kinosian will serve as musical director.

Hard Count Productions is the working collaboration of Costello and Dan Mittelman with the mission of producing Utah's Crying. Hard Count Productions is based in Toronto, Ontario and has been developing the work for over three years.

Métropole Ink LLC was formed into 2005 by Savannah College of Art and Design graduates, JP Sarni and Amanda Ward. The two met in SCAD's Media and Performing Arts Department, and have lived in New York since 2002, working in film, theatre, publicity and satellite radio. Métropole Ink works to develop theatrical and film projects with emerging artists.
