The premiere reading of Bluebirds by Joe Brondo will be held as part of the John Drew Theater Lab (JDTLab) tonight, September 9 at 7:30pm at the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall in East Hampton, NY. For more information, visit http://www.guildhall.org/events/?id=605&mode=id.

The reading will be directed by Joe Brondo, featuring Joe Brondo and Sophie Vanier, with Stage DIrections by Anita Boyer.

A young couple's relationship is tested when an unfulfilled Walt reveals his plot to sell a stolen rare book and Sarah refuses to take part, which sets into motion a night of past hurts brought to light and new revelations that will change their lives for better or worse.

Bluebirds is written by first-time playwright Joe Brondo. Born and raised in East Hampton he has appeared as an actor in many productions in New York and the Hamptons. New York: Dear v. Deer (Abingdon Theatre Company), The Outing (Open Hydrant Theater Company), Sex, Relationships, & Sometimes Love(Michael Chekhov Theatre Company). Hamptons: In The Next Room or The Vibrator Play (HITfest), Macbeth (Round Table Theatre Company), A Chorus Line, Not About Nightingales and Follies (Southampton Players), among others.

An alum of Williamstown Theatre Festival, Sophie Vanier (AEA, SAG-AFTRA) just returned from playing the title role of Hamlet in London, Stratford-upon-Avon and NYC with the Oxford Shakespeare Company. Her other stage credits include OFF-BROADWAY: Einstein (Grace Hubble); NYC: Bastard Blood (The White Queen), Weep for the Virgins (Ruby); REGIONAL: Comedy of Errors (Adriana), Boy Gets Girl (Theresa), Company (Sarah), Cabaret (Rosie), Proof (Claire), Hecuba (Hecuba), and The Three Sisters (Olga). TV/Film Credits include Boardwalk Empire, The Good Wife, White Collar, and Blue Bloods. Sophie is fortunate enough to have studied under Sybil Lines, Alec Baldwin and Michael Disher.
