The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Napoleon Ventures Ltd. are pleased to announce the New York premiere of five performances of the re-imagined musical production of Andrew Sabiston and Timothy William's Napoleon during the week of July 15th to July 22nd at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center.

A complete reworking of the musical that had two productions (Toronto '94 and London '00), the new NAPOLEON is told through the eyes of Talleyrand, the political mastermind who helped shape Napoleon's career. Modern parallels with the making of leaders today drive the narrative in which a young, promising rising star is discovered, latched onto, then managed and manipulated to suit the needs of his creator.

There are icons, and those who help make them. Talleyrand is a master politician operating in the shadows. He thinks he can manage the man he's grooming for greatness. But there's one thing Talleyrand can't control - Napoleon's obsession with Josephine. In the battle to come, two of the three will be known forever. One will emerge as the devil incarnate.

Ambition, desire and the price of success are the musical's timeless themes. Be it a Napoleon, a Clinton, a Putin or an Obama, the currency of power is the same and can be summed up with three simple questions... How much is a leader willing to go against his heart to succeed? How much of his soul will he trade away? What price for Victory?

Quote from the authors: "With the tremendous honor of an invitation to NYMF, we felt it was a great opportunity to reimagine the material, taking a dramatic shift in the book to tell the story though the eyes of a lesser known character who has always fascinated us: Talleyrand. We're thrilled to be debuting it this summer at NYMF."
