BroadwayWorld has confirmed that contrary to an erroneous WABC-TV report, Gary Conrad, the man shot by police today in Times Square, never worked at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, and was not an employee of THE BOOK OF MORMON.

The report quotes a man named Casey Ray, who identified himself as a "co-worker" of Mr. Conrad's. Mr. Ray, also, is neither an employee of the Eugene O'Neill Theatre nor THE BOOK OF MORMON.

According to the article, 46-year-old Conrad was shot dead by police in midtown Manhattan -- on 8th Avenue between 49th and 50th streets -- this morning after reportedly assaulting or threatening someone with a knife, which was recovered at the scene.

During the altercation, Conrad struggled with an officer, who sustained a slash wound. A bystander was also injured from a graze by one of the nine shots police fired at the suspect.

BroadwayWorld reported on the incident this morning.
