Vanessa Hudgens took to Instagram yesterday to share an emotional message to her late father, Greg Hudgens, who passed away just one day before the actress took on the starring role of Rizzo in Fox's GREASE: LIVE.

The 27-year-old captioned the photo at left: "Rest in peace daddy."

Hudgens, who recently made her Broadway debut in GIGI, gave one of the most memorable performances of the live musical broadcast, and thanked her fans on Twitter the next morning for all their support throughout the emotional evening.

Below, watch Hudgens' show-stopping performance of "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" from the January 31st broadcast.

GREASE: LIVE reintroduced and reimagined some of the show's most memorable moments, great music and timeless love story to an entirely new generation. In this live television adaptation of the musical classic, the beginning of senior year means the end of Danny and Sandy's summer romance - until Sandy unexpectedly transfers to Danny's high school. With their friends pulling them in different directions, it's up to Danny and Sandy to stay hopelessly devoted as they make their way from Rydell High to a new frontier.
