Coney Island USA Spring Gala Set for Webster Hall, Today

Coney Island USA's Spring Gala is the premiere fundraising event for the arts organization that brings New York City the Mermaid Parade, Coney Island Circus Sideshow, Burlesque at the Beach, The Coney Island Museum, Coney Island Film Festival and more. This annual benefit draws a host of celebrities, trendsetters, and performances by superstars of the Burlesque and Sideshow movement. The 2014 Spring Gala is titled: The Ides of March.

This year, for the first time ever, we will be naming the Coney Island USA Man and Woman of the Year, for their outstanding support of Coney Island throughout the year. Our honorees are Lisa Mangels-Schaefer, and the entire Mangels Family (ride manufacturers who operated on W.8th Street in Coney Island, from Coney's heyday through the 70's) and Steve and Dennis Vourderis, and the entire Vourderis Family (owners of the iconic Wonder Wheel Park).

In addition to naming the Coney Island USA Man and Woman of the Year, guests will be entertained by live music, sideshow freaks, go-go dancers, aerialists, burlesque performers, dj's and the shared experience of New York's sexiest fundraising benefit in a cocktail party setting, with food tastings.
