NYC composer, lyricist and pianist William Waldrop will make his Metropolitan Room debut on Sunday, September 20 at 9:30PM with a show entitled STILL, AND STILL MOVING: THE MUSIC OF WILLIAM WALDROP. Waldrop will be joined onstage by a starry lineup of singers who will perform his songs at the internationally acclaimed cabaret room.

Show attendees can expect to hear new contemporary theatre songs by this up-and-coming composer/lyricist as well as songs written with Waldrop's frequent lyricist and collaborator, Robert Williamson. Performers for the evening's program will include Caroline Bowman (Wicked, Kinky Boots), Cara Michelle Fish (Cats), Sarah Hunt (The Last Ship), Sean MacLaughlin (The Phantom of the Opera), John Riddle (The Visit), Katie Thompson (Giant), Angie Marie Smith (Sister Act) and Robert Williamson.

"I couldn't be more excited to have these incredible performers premier my pieces," said composer/lyricist William Waldrop. "I have had the pleasure of working with all of them at some point in my career and they all bring their own brilliant and unique interpretations to my music."

Waldrop says, "The songs in the show are mostly ones I have recently finished and reflect my life so far as a musician and songwriter - they speak to my southern upbringing, my life on the road, and my time in the greatest city in the world." He says though the evening has a central theme, cabaret patrons can expect a wide range of musical styles, from musical theatre to jazz to folk to contemporary rock. The composer will be at the piano and backed by an onstage band comprised of Laura Bontrager (Cello), Dillon Kondor (Guitars) and Adam Wolfe (Drums).

Waldrop has music directed and/or conducted numerous Broadway, off-Broadway, national tours and regional theatre productions including Evita (with Ricky Martin), The Phantom of the Opera (Music Box Company), A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, South Pacific (Asolo Repertory Theatre) and Grey Gardens starring Betty Buckley and Rachel York (Bay Street Theatre).
