Childrens Theatre of Richmond is thrilled to present Rodgers and Hammersteins G2K Cinderella. Audiences saw the original musical, starring Julie Andrews, on television in 1957, and it has charmed audiences in a multitude of versions since. A delightful score includes the favorites In My Own Little Corner, Impossible/It's Possible and Ten Minutes Ago. The tale of a girl whose downtrodden life is transformed by her Fairy Godmother and whose kindness wins the heart of her Prince comes to life at the Granville Island Stage. As the earliest version of the "Cinderella" story appeared in Tang Dynasty 1000 years ago, Childrens Theatre of Richmonds bold production will incorporate classic Asian elements into the award-winning Broadway musical. Audiences will be wowed by the vibrant Tang Dynasty-inspired lighting, exquisite Chinese patterned costumes, and hidden symbols in the design revealing Cinderellas Asian origins.
