YES, PRIME MINISTER Ends Run November 19

By:

One of the most successful comedies in recent years, AnTony Jay and Jonathan Lynn's Yes, Prime Minister has played to sell out audiences at Chichester Festival Theatre and the Gielgud Theatre last year followed by a UK wide tour this Spring and a run at the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue. On September 17, the production packed up at the Apollo and moved next door back into The Gielgud Theatre where the production will finish its run on 19 November.

Winning the Whatsonstage.com award for Best New Comedy, the recession-busting West End production of Yes, Prime Minister continues to demonstrate that the public have an insatiable appetite for the sharp political comedy that made the television series such colossal hits.

The signature roles of Prime Minister Jim Hacker and Sir Humphrey Appleby performed by Richard McCabe and Simon Williams who continue to grapple with a country in financial and political meltdown.

Since it opened in the summer of 2010, Yes Prime Minister has attracted an array of political figures including Chris Huhne, Theresa May, Lord Lawson, Iain Duncan Smith, Eric Pickles, Diane Abbott and John Bercow, making it the talk of the corridors of power. The original TV series ran across eighteen years with a total of 38 episodes. Particularly popular in Australia and New Zealand, plans are underway for the stage play to open at The Melbourne Theatre Company in February 2012.
