Wyvern Theatre's Summer Youth Project to Present OUR HOUSE - THE MADNESS MUSICAL, Aug 22-25
The Wyvern Theatre is calling for participants to audition for the annual Summer Youth Project production. Now in its 19th year, this year's production of Our House - The Madness Musical promises to be bigger and better than ever before!
Our House is a fast moving romantic-comedy featuring all the hits of Madness. The show tells the tale of Joe Casey and the two courses his life may take after committing a petty crime to impress his girlfriend.
This year, the Wyvern Theatre will welcome a brand-new creative team direct from HQ Theatre's Wycombe Swan, where Our House was staged in February 2012.
"The Summer Youth Project was devised to provide local young people the opportunity to work with a variety of theatre professionals," said Theatre Director Derek Aldridge. "Rodney Howard has successfully directed the performances for a number of years and we are incredibly grateful for his dedication and passion. This year, our Summer Youth Project participants will have the opportunity to learn from a brand-new creative team who have successfully staged this production with young theatre enthusiasts in sister venues of the Wyvern Theatre. They will undoubtedly leave participants with life skills which can be applied in all walks of life - whether performing or not!"
If you're aged between 9 and 21 and would like to be involved in the Wyvern's production, auditions for Our House - The Madness Musical will be held at the Wyvern Theatre on Sunday 7 April. Our House features Madness favourites such as Our House, Baggy Trousers, My Girl, Driving In My Car, The Wings of a Dove and the all-time classic It Must Be Love.
