Warrington Museum to Host Frightening Interactive Haunt Event

Warrington Museum is hosting a brilliantly scary and immersive live theatre event providing visitors with a fascinating foray into the past.

Following on from the success of the sell-out events Rotten Luck and Smoke & Mirrors, Blackwood Events are giving the public another chance to become part of the history books with Reckless Rulers.

A talented cast of actors will take three groups on a unique tour of the museum's haunted rooms while sharing the darkest details and performing an array of animated scenes from local history.

Rowan Arnold, writer for Blackwood Events, said: "Visitors can join the Roman Empire and see if they've got what it takes to defend the town, fight against the Yorkshire puddings by helping Henry Tudor defeat the vicious Richard III in the War of the Roses, and discover the truth behind "The Great Fire of Warrington".

"Ruthless Romans and vicious Vikings will be some of the gruesome characters visitors will meet during their journey through Warrington's horrible history.

"Reckless Rulers is a great event, a unique mix of stories, scares and comedy designed to entertain and educate through live action, lighting, audio and effects; there really is nothing else like it and I look forward to welcoming as many visitors as possible."

Derek Dick, outreach and engagement manager, added: "We're really pleased to support Blackwood Events, a young and exciting company, and to showcase this live experience event at Warrington Museum & Art Gallery.

"The group's enthusiasm for storytelling is a great way to bring history to life and they make the most of the brilliant space and exhibitions we have here.

"The last two events have been huge successes and it's wonderful to see visitors engaging in their local history so actively, especially the younger ones who thoroughly enjoy immersing themselves in the stories they hear."

This family-friendly event has three 45-minute performances to choose from at 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm; tickets cost £7.50 or £25 for a group of 4, and are free to Culture Warrington members.
