Robert Gould Returns to Union Theatre with MUSICALS SHARED WITH FRIENDS

Librettist/lyricist RoBert Gould will return to the Union Theatre on Sunday May 7 with MUSICALS SHARED WITH FRIENDS - a concert of songs from five new musicals for which he has penned lyrics. RoBert Gould is co- writer (with Christopher J. Orton) of the recent highly acclaimed, sell-out, Offie Award nominated musical "My Land's Shore" which received its world premiere at Ye Olde Rose And Crown Theatre in February 2017. An album of songs with Gould's lyrics - "Words Shared With Friends" - with vocals by a stellar cast of West End vocalists, was released in 2014 and was nominated for a Broadwayworld Album Award as Best Compilation Album. He has presented a number of concerts of his songs in London Fringe venues, including two sell-out cabarets of songs written with composer Rob Eyles ("I Wasn't Thinking At All" and "As Long As I Have Music") at The Pheasantry in 2015 and 2016 and "Favourite Sins And Chocolate Bars" with co-writer Alex James Ellison at the Union Theatre in October 2016.

MUSICALS SHARED WITH FRIENDS will feature songs from new musicals "The Wonderful Musician", "Shadow On The Sun", "Elephant Juice" and "Texting And Tweeting The Musical" - with music by Rob Eyles, Omri Lahav, Christopher J. Orton and Alex James Ellison - performed by a cast of West End and Off West End Singers. The show will also include material from "My Land's Shore", performed by stars of the cast from the production at Ye Olde Rose And Crown Theatre.

The concert cast will include: Aidan Banyard (My Land's Shore, Parade), Abigail Carter-Simpson (Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, Aliens Love Underpants, Finian's Rainbow, Ushers), Hywel Dowsell (Honeymoon In Vegas, My Land's Shore), Gareth Evans (Loserville), Rebecca Gilliland (My Land's Shore, The Clockmaker's Daughter), Emma Hickey (My Land's Shore), Kate Hume (Red Riding Hood, The Cat In The Hat, The Kissing Dance), Brendan Matthew (Girlfriends, Me And Juliet), Lauren Ingram (The Rocky Horror Show, Gypsy, From Here To Eternity), Shaun McCourt (The Railway Children, War Horse, Joseph And the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat), Kira Morsley (My Land's Shore, The Kissing Dance, Phantom), Michael Rees (My Land's Shore, Girlfriends), Oli Reynolds (The Story Of Bart, Duncton Wood, Pacific Overtures & star of the award-winning film Superboy: Son Of Tomorrow), Kathryn Rutherford (White Feather, Honk!), Matthew Jay Ryan (Red Riding Hood, The Cat In The Hat, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Dreaming), Raymond Walsh (My Land's Shore, Princess Ida, Finian's Rainbow), Aled Powys Williams (My Land's Shore & formerly a member of the Classical Brit Award winning choir Only Men Aloud).

The concert will be musically directed and accompanied by Aaron Clingham and Rob Eyles and produced by Carrie Baxter.
