Rachael Savage Will Lead A Masterclass In London

On Monday, 1st April actors have a rare opportunity to learn about performing in full mask when internationally-renowned director, Rachael Savage, leads a Masterclass at Jacksons Lane in North London.

Rachael is Artistic Director of award-winning full mask company, Vamos Theatre, and has taught and directed across the world, including in China, South Africa and across Europe.

Organised as part of Vamos Theatre's visit to Jacksons Lane during its UK and European tour, the Masterclass is open to all professional actors, performers and theatre makers. Participants will learn mask theatre techniques such as characterisation, focus, improvisation with mask and devising as an ensemble.

Rachael commented about the Masterclass,
"I'm really looking forward to working with the performers who'll be attending and I promise a creative, challenging, high energy and inspiring session where we will learn through doing, watching, and sharing. I often find new performers for our national and international tours through Masterclasses, and that's another element that's exciting for me."

From April 1st-3rd, Vamos Theatre will be performing at the venue with A Brave Face. a powerful, compassionate production about the life of a soldier after returning from combat, created from two years of research with former and serving soldiers. The show is completely wordless, performed in mask with an original soundtrack. The company's previous visits to Jacksons Lane, as part of London International Mime Festival, have sold out.
