Nuffield Southampton Theatres (NST) announces Make It SO, a new season of theatre from Southampton and Hampshire based artists to be staged in the Studio Theatre at Southampton's new venue NST City from 18 February to 6 April 2019. Make It SO will accompany the return of NST's smash-hit production The Shadow Factory and celebrate Southampton as a city of makers.

Head of Programming Katy Snelling said: "Having spread the story of Southampton's spitfire manufacturers in our hit production of The Shadow Factory we've spent the Autumn seeking out other Hampshire makers. This has led us to be able to present a season of performances in our studio entirely made by local artists. Some of the shows are at early stages and others well established and I couldn't be prouder to showcase the talent and skill our city has to offer."

Make It SO highlights include two brand new musicals in Obella and Big Mouse Strikes Again; a new play about the pioneering Southampton-based engineer Tilly Schillings in Tilly and the Spitfires; a new take on Virginia Woolf's ground-breaking novel Orlando; and a new show for families celebrating the inspiring story of the Hampshire Renegade Girls.

Alongside ten Hampshire-based companies and artists taking part in Make It SO are NST's Youth Theatre with Class, their contribution towards the NT Connections Festival and Solent University's performing arts student showcases.

Nuffield Southampton Theatres is committed to support local artists through their creative development programme Laboratory. NST collaborates with artists at all stages in their careers and provides a programme of talent development opportunities such as creative residencies, scratch nights, networking opportunities and skills development workshops. The Make It So season is part of this programme.
