Next Thing You Know Team Bring WORKING BAR To The Bridewell Stage

Premier amateur theatre company Sedos will build a working bar on the Bridewell Theatre stage for upcoming stage musical Next Thing You Know ("NTYK"), creating a show which is half traditional musical comedy and half immersive theatre experience. Before the show, the audience will be able to purchase drinks onstage, and during what would usually be the interval, the audience will be invited back onstage to party with the cast, in direct continuation of the story.
Director Dan Saunders says, "The bar is very much a character in and of itself. By bringing the audience on stage to mix and mingle with the characters at the pivotal point in the show, we can add depth and immediacy to the story and provide theatre goers with what they often seek in a theatre experience - a sense that they are as much a part of the performance as the cast are."
Despite being an amateur theatre company, Sedos has a reputation for mounting productions that are anything but amateur in quality. "First and foremost for us is the joy of creating and performing," says Dan. "However, Sedos always strives to present a professional standard of theatre and to push the boundaries of what an amateur society can achieve. NTYK is no different."
Often described as a musical episode of hit sitcoms Friends or How I Met Your Mother, the show is from critically acclaimed duo Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham, who may be better known for their musical I Love You Because, staged by Sedos in their 2014 season.
Next Thing You Know will run at the Bridewell Theatre in London from 5-9 March 2019. Full information and tickets can be found at www.sedos.co.uk.
