LAST CHANCE: BRAHMS AND BARTÓK
11 JULY

Brahms - Piano Quartet Op 25
Dohnanyi - Serenade
Bartók - Violin Sonata No 2

Brahms and Bartók meet head-on! The Zigeuner finale of Brahm's spectacular G minor Piano Quartet provided jumping off point for much of Bartók's chamber music. His two Sonatas, or 'dreams', written for Jelly d'Aranyi, Joseph Joachim's great niece in 1922, can be seen as one of his most powerful answers to Brahms.

Monday 11th July, pre-concert talk starts 7pm, concert starts 7:30pm.Tickets £10. To buy tickets click here.
