Mark Gatiss to Hold Master Class at Diorama Arts Studios

Arion Productions has announced actor, writer and producer Mark Gatiss as the latest artist to join their exceptional line-up of industry professionals to provide expert, 'one day only' training in much-sought-after specialist fields for professional theatre-makers and those considering professional training at Diorama Arts Studios.

Mark Will be holding two in-depth discussions on Sunday 11th December 2016 with the first for writers from 1pm - 3pm and another for actors from 4pm - 6pm. Both discussions will be chaired by multi-award winning Director and Artistic Director of Arion Productions Andrew Keates and all those that attend will have the opportunity to meet Mark and ask about his life and career.

Other already announced upcoming masterclasses include an Acting Through Song Masterclass with West End leading lady Anna Jane Casey with Musical Director Dustin Conrad and Olivier and Actor's Screen Guild Award nominated actress Annette Badland (EastEnders, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, Homelander, Doctor Who), who will be offering an Acting for Stage and Screen Masterclass.

All attendees must be 16+ and all places must be booked in advance. All places must be booked in advance and it is strongly advised to book as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment.

Places are priced at £30 per discussion. All profits raised from the Portfolio Masterclass series will be invested by Arion Productions into future opportunities in their upcoming productions to give practical and paid experience.

Mark Gatiss: Discussions for Actors and Writers

Mark Gatiss is an actor, writer and producer. He first found success with The League of Gentlemen, with whom he won the Perrier award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1997, and went on to enjoy a radio series and three television series on the BBC, and a big screen outing in 2005. A lifelong fan of Doctor Who, he has written eight episodes since its return to TV in 2005, and has appeared in the show twice. Other notable TV performances include Nighty Night, Mapp and Lucia, London Spy, Game of Thrones, Coalition, Wolf Hall and Sense and Sensibility. Film appearances include Dad's Army, Our Kind of Traitor, Bright Young Things, Victor Frankenstein and Starter for Ten. He is perhaps best known as the executive producer and writer of the award-winning global phenomenon Sherlock, alongside his friend and colleague Steven Moffat, in which he also plays the role of the detective's older brother Mycroft Holmes. His theatre work includes the role of Menenius in Coriolanus (Donmar Warehouse) for which he was nominated for an Olivier award for Best Supporting Actor, Agrado in All About My Mother (Old Vic), Bernard in Season's Greetings (National Theatre), Charles I in 55 Days (Hampstead), Captain Brazen in The Recruiting Office and Stephen Crosswell in The Vote (both Donmar Warehouse), and most recently Dr Shpigelsky in Three Days in the Country (National Theatre), which saw him awarded Best Supporting Actor at this year's Olivier Awards.

This event is scheduled over two parts. Writers should arrive ready for a 1pm start and a 3pm finish. Actors should arrive for a 4pm start with a 6pm finish. Please prepare questions for Mark in advance of each discussion. Questions will be chaired by multi-award-winning Director, Andrew Keates.

Tickets are available priced £35 per masterclass or £30 per discussion for Mark Gatiss' event, plus a TicketWeb booking fee. All tickets must be booked in advanced of the events. Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged after they have been purchased. Tickets can be collected from the registration desk on the day provided a confirmation email from TicketWeb and a form of ID is presented.
