fiji land, directed by Alice Malin and designed by Ruth Hall with lighting by Tom Wickens and sound by Max Pappenheim, will feature Stephen Bisland, Jake Ferretti,and Matthew Trevannion at The Little at Southwark Playhouse. Press performance: Friday, 17 January at 7.30pm. The show runs today, 15 January - 8 February 2014.

Meanwhile, Tanc's here to do what he's told and do it proper. fiji land is a surreal and incisive play about the very real things that happen when cell doors shut and the world looks away.

Off West End Award Most Promising Playwright nominee Nick Gill's recent work includes Sand (Royal Court Theatre) and Mirror Teeth, also nominated for OffWestEnd Award Best New Play.

Writer Nick Gill's credits include Sand (Royal Court), Mirror Teeth (Finborough Theatre - nominated for 4 Off West End awards: Most Promising Playwright, Best New Play, Best Director and Best Female Performance), Something I wrote in a hurry (Tabard Theatre), Funeralesque (Trafalgar Studios), God's gonna cut you down (Theatre 503), Overblown Romantic Gestures (Theatre 503 and Latitude Festival) and Untitled #5 (these planes) (Theatre 503). Nick has received two grants from the Peggy Ramsay Foundation to develop his work and won the inaugural Lost Theatre 5 Minute Festival with Something I wrote in a hurry. fiji land received a reading in 2007 at the Soho Theatre, directed by Bob Wolstenholme, and was a finalist in the Amnesty International & iceandfire Protect the Human competition.

Director Alice Malin's recent credits include Freefall: A Double Bill (New Wimbledon Studio), The Ones Who Kill Shooting Stars (White Bear Theatre), XX, Diggers, Citizenship (Theatre 503) Fox (Descent/Southwark Playhouse), In The Garage (Little Pieces of Gold at Southwark Playhouse), Baggage (Soho Theatre), Loot (Cockpit Theatre), Seven (George Tavern), The Bird Trap (Lost Theatre). Assistant director credits include Dancing at Lughnasa (Northampton Theatre Royal), Where the Mangrove Grows (Theatre 503), Roots, As You Like It (Clwyd Theatr Cymru).

Stephen Bisland (Tanc) trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Theatre credits include The Hairy Ape (Southwark Playhouse), The Man Who Had All the Luck (Sell A Door Theatre Company). Television credits include Doctors and Waterloo Road.

Jake Ferretti (Grainer) was recently part of the ensemble for the original West End cast of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. Other theatre credits include Sherlock Holmes (Erasmus Theatre), The Wind Doesn't Sing, Graceland (Old Vic New Voices), Enjoy (Gielgud Theatre and UK Tour), Pygmalion (Old Vic Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (Teatro di Stabile, Verona), Cloud Nine (Edinburgh Festival).

Matthew Trevannion's (Wolstead) recent theatre credits include Beautiful Burnout, Little Dogs (Frantic Assembly/National Theatre of Scotland), Dr Dee (ENO), The Sea Plays (Old Vic Tunnels), Hamlet (Young Vic), Love Steals Us from Loneliness (National Theatre Wales). Matthew is also an award nominated playwright who's debut play Bruised was first performed at the Theatre Clwyd Cymru and has since been translated into several languages. He is currently under commission to write new work for both the National Theatre Wales and Sherman Cymru.
