Drag Musical LIBERTY RIDES FORTH Comes to Waterloo East

Liberty, a mischievous drag queen, unexpectedly springs to life from the pages of Trevor's new novel. The hapless author is attempting to write a best-seller to win over Susie, the woman he loves from afar; but now suddenly he and the three apprentice Muses sent to inspire him are fighting for Susie's very survival!

Arriving at Waterloo East Theatre via the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringes, this is a brand new full length musical full of toe-tapping tunes and delicious comedy.

Writer/composer David Kent has had his songs performed in New York, at the Yale Cabaret Conference, and in Los Angeles. Cabaret artist and West End star Morag McLaren has performed a song specially written for her in her show at Pizza on the Park, and David Meulemanns has built two one-man shows around his music, performing them at New York's Metropolitan Room, and London's The Pheasantry and Crazy Coqs.

David's first musical was the 5 star two hander Uglies Do Edinburgh, which chronicled the further adventures of Cinderella's Ugly Sisters. Soul Mates was specially commended in Lost Theatre's Music Box 2014 competition and is now currently under development with Julie Clare Productions. His musical Just We Two workshopped in New York City in 2016. In 2011, Liberty Rides Forth! was a finalist in the Soho Theatre's "New Musical Project" and has subsequently had successful runs at the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringes.

Musical director Michael Roulston is an accomplished and versatile musical director and composer with frequent work in the West End and as a regular face behind the piano at practically every major cabaret venue in London. Director Susan Raasay has worked at the Pleasance Theatre, Southwark Playhouse and Bridewell Theatre, and directed Liberty Goes Forth! for the Brighton and Edinburgh productions.

On stage, Liberty will be played by veteran panto performer Dereck Walker, and Trevor will be played by William Hazell.
