Autumn Season Highlights Announced at the Queen's Theatre Hornchurch

By:

The Queen's Theatre Hornchurch is excited to announce its new season of superb comedy and thrilling drama, providing audiences with the very best in live entertainment.

From a British premiere of Ken Ludwig's furiously-paced farce A Fox On The Fairway (25 August - 16 September) and a world premiere of H.G.Wells' sci-fi classic, The Invisible Man (27 October - 18 November) to a variety of brilliant live music, tribute acts, children's workshops and family entertainment, there's something for everyone to look forward to in the coming months. An innovative, high-energy family dance show Fagin's Twist, inspired by Dickens' cherished tale dances its way into the Queen's Theatre from 21 - 23 September and is followed by the smash hit rock 'n' roll musical Million Dollar Quartet, fresh from its sold out West End run (25 - 30 September), starring former Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan. A side-splitting stage adaptation of the much-loved Ealing comedy, The Ladykillers by celebrated television writer Graham Linehan (Father Ted, The IT Crowd) runs from 3 - 21 October.

The theatre is delighted to again be co-producing with New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich and Salisbury Playhouse on this humorous tale. Artistic Director Douglas Rintoul says, 'I'm delighted to announce a new season that truly has something for everyone, at prices for everyone so dive on in. It includes shows by some of the best and most experienced UK theatre makers as well as exhilarating new work including a sci-fi adventure and a theatrical family dance show made by some of the most exciting young theatre makers. We're proud to be producing and presenting the best in live entertainment for our fantastic audiences in East London and Essex.' The theatre's rolling Outer Limits Festival, which celebrates local talent, continues and features the hilarious The Staff Room prior to its run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Indian dance spectacular Confessions of a Cockney Temple Dancer on 23 July. This Christmas, the theatre is producing two festive treats for families to enjoy.

In addition to a magical action-packed panto, Beauty and the Beast (30 November - 7 January), the theatre is thrilled to be partnering with Rainham Hall, a national trust property, to create a beautiful adaptation of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. This production is suitable for children aged 3 -7 with their families and runs from 6 - 23 December in Rainham Hall's historic hayloft. Other highlights include: A Tribute to George Michael, Pop Up Bowie, Some Guys Have All The Luck - The Rod Stewart Story, A Night of Dirty Dancing, The Searchers, Jimmy Osmond's Moon River & Me, Whitney - Queen of the Night and celebrity food critic Jay Rayner. The season also boasts a range of excellent family entertainment including The Gruffalo, The Little Mix Experience and The Big Pop Party featuring tribute acts of Taylor Swift, Olly Murs, Ed SHeeran and Katy Perry.
