Astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield to Return to The Bristol Hippodrome This Winter

By:
The 21st Century's most famous astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield, returns to the UK in January for a short tour. 'An Evening with Colonel Chris Hadfield' is a unique 90 minute presentation by this Canadian pioneer reflecting on his 35 year history as a military pilot and astronaut.

An evening with Chris Hadfield will open your eyes to dream the impossible. Together with rarely seen videos from Chris's personal collection audiences in Bristol will be mesmerized by the beauty of our planet from a perspective usually only given to the very privileged few.

During his five month stay on the International Space Station, Hadfield became something of an extra-planetary media star. He not only shared extraordinary photos, he tweeted The Queen and William Shatner, talked to school children, strummed his guitar and provided demonstration videos about daily life. On his last day on the ISS, he posted a farewell music video online - his version of David Bowie's "Space Oddity". It instantly went viral, garnering millions of immediate views. It has now been viewed almost 33 million times.

Through his 21-years as an astronaut, 3 spaceflights and 2600 orbits of Earth, Colonel Hadfield has become a worldwide sensation, harnessing the power of social media to make outer space accessible to millions and infusing a sense of wonder into our collective consciousness not felt since humanity first walked on the Moon.

During his multi-faceted career Hadfield has intercepted Soviet bombers in Canadian airspace, lived on the ocean floor, been NASA's Director of Operations in Russia, and recorded science and music videos seen by hundreds of millions.

Chris Hadfield has also published two books, "An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth" and "You are Here".

The Bristol Hippodrome Marketing Manager, Steve Jones said, "Out of the many incredible and high quality shows we host here at The Bristol Hippodrome this night will be a real privilege to share in the experiences of a real life astronaut. I think the appetite for space adventure has never been greater and I for one already have my ticket before it sells out!"

This is set to be a highly educational and inspirational presentation, the first 'must see' event for 2017 from an international icon who is simply "out of this world".....and of course he will be singing "Space Oddity"!
