The Improv Trick has won the Performing Arts MasterMind Award for 2009 from the Riverfront Times. The MasterMind award is given to groups or individuals that have a singular vision that enriches our local cultural mix and the dedication to pursue that vision. Checks are given to recipients to help them succeed in their visions.
Bill Chott, nationally known actor/comedian/writer, whose credits include Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place, The Ringer, and Saturday Night Live, formed The Improv Trick in St. Louis four years ago and it continues to grow. It offers classes for adults and children and holds weekly shows. The Improv Trick also helps give back to the community by offering scholarships to under privileged youth in the St. Louis area. Chott was much honored to be chosen by the Riverfront Times, a Village Voice publication, saying, "It's a thrill to be able to teach and perform improv in my hometown, and have improv recognized as a vital art form.
