In addition to the cash, scholarships and prizes given out to the top twelve finalists at the conclusion of the 1st Annual Teen Talent Showcase on May 6th at The Fabulous Fox Theatre, the thirty-four teens that competed will also have the opportunity to perform at various events throughout the upcoming year. This additional exposure will not only increase their experience performing in front of crowds, but will allow the public and performing arts professionals even more chances to see their talent first hand. The Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation hope this may lead to some of these teens being offered additional opportunities or perhaps even jobs from their exposure at these arts events.

The following events are currently on the calendar for the teen finalists:
Shakespeare Festival St. Louis Greenshow (May 28, 7pm)
Webster Groves Art & Air Festival (June 4, 11 am)
Six Flags St. Louis (June 5, 2:15, 4, 6:15 pm)
Shakespeare Festival St. Louis Greenshow (June 11, 7pm)
The Muny: Lichtenstein Plaza (June 22, 7 pm)
Dancing in the Street Festival (September 24)
First Night St. Louis (December 31)

If you missed seeing the 1st Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase live May 6th at The Fox, the Nine Network / KETC will re-air their coverage again on Saturday, May 28th at 3:30pm CST. This special presentation will increase the awareness of our Showcase and the talented teens in our metro area, hopefully inspiring other communities to do the same. Nine joined with the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation as an event partner and with sponsor St. Louis Community College to tape the entire final Broadway style event as well as semifinal performances and contestant interviews.

Based on technical ability, stage presence, interpretation, originality and content, the distinguished panel of performing arts professionals chose the following students for top honors: 1st place ($5000 scholarship and $2000 school cash prize) went to Micah Manaitai Garrido of Crossroads College Preparatory School; 2nd place ($3500 scholarship and $2000 school cash prize) went to Hazelwood East's Intisar Faulkner, Vesta Greene, Sabrina Harris and Ashle Rene Pegues; 3rd place ($2000 scholarship and $2000 school cash prize) went to Grace Seidel of Villa Duschene. (Full list of prize & award winners as well as pictures available upon request.)

The success of this year's event has secured a 2nd Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase at The Fox on April 27, 2012. So teens...start practicing! We can't wait to see what you have in store for us next year.
