The Sheldon and The Washington Area Chamber of Commerce present The Sheldon Acoustic Aces, Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m. at the Washington Farmers Market, Historic Downtown Washington, MO. Tickets are $5 general admission and are available at the Washington Area Chamber of Commerce at 323 West Main Street and the Washington Visitors Center at 301 W. Front Street.

With the support of the National Endowment for the Arts, the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis is touring music ensembles to Missouri and Illinois communities during the 2009 season and is looking forward to working with the community of Washington, MO in presenting The Sheldon Acoustic Aces.

Guitarist John Higgins has assembled some of the finest acoustic performers in the region to form the ensemble. Other members of the group include Thayne Bradford, fiddle and vocals; Charlie Pfeffer, mandolin, guitar and vocals; Bob Bridenbach, dobro; and Vince Corkery, upright bass. The group will perform acoustic music, including traditional folk music, Americana, and music by contemporary singer-songwriters.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for our community," said Tourism Director Wayne Dothage. "There are very few chances for a community like Washington, that has a love for the arts, to partner with an arts organization like the Sheldon to sponsor a concert."
