Stages St. Louis ad Delta Gamma Present YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, 2/26

By: Feb. 26, 2011

STAGES ST. LOUIS and Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments will partner in a co-production of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown on Saturday, February 26 at the Maryville University Campus. This special performance will be modified from the original script and score to fit the abilities of the students. Area children who are both sighted and visually impaired will participate in the performance and range in ages 7 to 18.

A baseball game, glee club, Beethoven birthday celebration and young love -- all a day in the life for Charlie Brown. Spend the day with he and his popular Peanuts friends as he tries to discover what it means to be a "good man" in this hit musical comedy. Songs include "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," "Happiness," "T-E-A-M" and many more! Performance time is set for 7:00 PM. Admission is free and open to the public and made possible through contributions from the Valerie Marvin Walch Fund and E. Reuben and Gladys Flora Charitable Trust.

"The ongoing partnership between STAGES ST. LOUIS Performing Arts Academy and Delta Gamma began in 2008 in an effort to continue our commitment to nurturing creative expression within students of all ages and abilities. The partnership with Delta Gamma is especially important to our mission to reach out to the community as we work to ensure that all young people have the opportunity to experience the enjoyment and valuable life skills that come from musical theatre performance," stated STAGES Director of Education & Outreach, Rob Grumich.

"For the GRADS and our families, connections and collaboration can make life easier, more meaningful and a lot more fun." said Debbie Chapuis, Family Support Coordinator, "That is why we are so excited about this year's collaboration with STAGES." The GRADS (Group Recreation and Developmental Support) program provides participants with opportunities for peer support, development of social skills, participation in community activities and increased independence.

In the past three years, over 70 Community Education Programs from STAGES have served more than 10,000 young people and adults in the St. Louis area.
