By: Gabrielle Sierra
Gateway Men's Chorus (GMC) continues their 24th fantastic season with Piano Men at 8 p.m., Saturday March 26, 2011 for a ONE NIGHT ONLY concert at the 560 Music Center, 560 Trinity Avenue, University City, MO.
Gateway Men's Chorus invites you to Come Out for a night and jump into Spring with Piano Men! Long before "gleek" and "mash up" were part of the vernacular, GMC has been mixing it up with an electic assortment of fun, serious, old, new and everything in between always remaining true to their mission of presenting beautiful male choral music. This rollercoaster continues with the second installment of its 24th season. Piano Men is the soundtrack of your life. With 70+ men, dual and sometimes dueling pianos on stage, this concert is a must see! Throw in a few numbers from their sister chorus, CHARIS and you have a night of smiles and good times."We've planned this concert to appeal to anyone who has ever fallen in love or even out of love to the music of Billy Joel, Elton John, or Barry Manilow. Classic songs from the 70's and 80's are augmented by music of Rufus Wainwright, Jerry Lee Lewis and Stevie Wonder offering a concert with something for everyone," states Artistic Director Dr. Jeffery Carter. Dr. Carter returns to the podium for his third consecutive season with GMC. Resident accompanists Al Fischer and NeAl Richardson round out the team on piano.
