Artists Lounge Live presents AN UNFORGETTABLE NAT KING COLE CHRISTMAS at the Playhouse @ Westport Plaza December 7-17.

AN UNFORGETTABLE NAT KING COLE CHRISTMAS stars the mesmerizing Evan Tyrone Martin, who warmly resonates the velvety vocal style of musical legend Nat King Cole. Martin intimately relates Cole's musical journey: from his upbringing in the Chicago church, to shuffling along the jazz scene, to his emergence as a popular music icon. Classic tunes include "Straighten Up and Fly Right," "L-O-V-E," "Smile" and, of course, many holiday favorites.
A fixture on the Chicago theatre scene, his credits include Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar," Hud in "Hair," Curtis in "Dreamgirls," King Triton in "The Little Mermaid," Collins in "Rent" and Harpo in "The Color Purple." He was nominated for a Broadway World Award for his portrayal of Valentin in "Kiss of the Spider Woman."
Artists Lounge Live is a dynamic concert series showcasing tremendous talent in an intimate light. These evenings of stories and song play like a backstage tour of show business life. Series producer Michael Ingersoll is a performer himself, currently touring internationally with the retro-rock sensation Under the Streetlamp. He co-produced the quartet's three live PBS concert specials, as well as several successful music events for venues including Paramount Theatre, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, and Northlight Theatre; and philanthropic organizations including American Cancer Society, United Way, and Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.
