The Sheldon presents Ben Nordstrom & Katy Tibbets, "Broadway Romance," Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the perfect acoustics of the Sheldon Concert Hall. April is Music For Lifelong Achievement month! Bring an instrument to any Sheldon performance or drop off during normal business hours in the month of April and keep the music playing for local students! Kevin Kline Award-winning actor Ben Nordstrom and singer Katy Tibbets bring the romance of Broadway to The Sheldon, as they perform a program celebrating spring, renewal, young love and the magic of the music of the Great White Way. Enjoy Broadway hits by everyone from Irving Berlin to Stephen Sondheim!

Professional actor and director Ben Nordstrom is based in St. Louis and locally, has appeared at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Stages St. Louis, New Jewish Theatre and Spotlight T.E.E.N. New York and regional credits include The Gorey Details (Century Center), Devil in the Flesh (York), Amadeus (Great Lakes Theater Festival), Equus (Alley Theatre), Little Shop of Horrors and Jesus Christ Superstar (Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre). He received the 2005 Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical for his performance as Ren McCormack in Footloose at Stages St. Louis, and was a 2006 nominee for his performance as Bobby Strong in the Rep's Off-Ramp hit production of Urinetown, the Musical. Nordstrom holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Webster Conservatory and teaches musical theatre and acting workshops at the STAGES Academy.

Originally from St. Louis, Katy Tibbets first toured around the U.K. and Ireland playing Chuckie in the International tour of Nickelodeon's Rugrats. Regionally, she has appeared in Children of Eden (Pennsylvania Centre Stage), Bye Bye Birdie (Great Plains Theatre) and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (Landers Theatre). Other favorite roles include Lizzie in Baby, Maggie in Lend Me A Tenor, and Babe in The Pajama Game. Locally, Tibbets has worked with Stages St. Louis for three seasons, The Orange Girls, Avalon Theatre, and most recently originated the role of Annie in Echo Theatre Company's production of Fugitive Songs.
