Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

Yesterday, April 18, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, the hit musical now playing at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), celebrated the beginning of its 3rd electrifying year in New York and the 300th performance of the show at New World Stages. Celtic Thunder has been one of the great musical phenomena of the past decade. Since their debut in 2007, the Irish vocalist supergroup has conquered the world, becoming PBS favorites and topping the world music charts in the U.S. and top concert attractions everywhere. Original Celtic Thunder vocalist Paul Byrom decided in Fall of 2010 to leave the group, in order to re-locate to the States and launch his worldwide solo career with a new solo recording. The resulting album, THIS IS THE MOMENT will be released by Shanachie Entertainment on November 8, 2011 to coincide with Paul Byrom's first solo North American tour. This mad-cap musical comedy based on Shakespeare?s Twelfth Night, playing September 16 through October 11, overflows with rock ?n roll, gospel, romance and mistaken identities. All Shook tells the story of a small town girl with big dreams and the motorcycle-riding roustabout she falls for. Among the many hits that will have you jumping out of your blue suede shoes are, ?Love Me Tender,? ?Heartbreak Hotel,? ?Hound Dog,? and ?It?s Now or Never.? All Shook Up is guaranteed to knock your socks off!

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company continues its 2008-09 Season with Boom by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, author of Hunter Gatherers, winner of the 2007 Steinberg New Play Award.

Casting has been announced for the London production of Jersey Boys, the Tony Award award-winning Broadway musical. The show will open in London's West End at the Prince Edward Theatre on Tuesday March 18, 2008, following previews from February 28, 2008. The London cast will be headed by Ryan Molloy as Frankie Valli, Stephen Ashfield as Bob Gaudio, Glenn Carter as Tommy DeVito and Philip Bulcock as Nick Massi.
