Romeo and Juliet Revival 1869

Sydney based theatre company Theatre Travels (The Laramie Project, No: Intermission Festival) prepares to pack a punch with its 20th production since launching in 2018, with the Australian premiere season of Joy Wilkinson's The Sweet Science of Bruising.

With their production of Orpheus Descending about to transfer to the Menier, Wave Me Goodbye running at the company's home base, and the Olivier Award-winning Home I'm Darling completing its tour back home in Wales where it began, Theatr Clwyd today announces their new season for Autumn 2019.

Troupe today announces full cast for the The Sweet Science of Bruising by Joy Wilkinson which transfers to Wilton's Music Hall, following its sold-out run at Southwark Playhouse last year. Kirsty Patrick Ward directs Owen Brenman (Professor Charlie Sharp), Celeste Dodwell (Violet Hunter), Jane How (Aunt George), Tom Lorcan (Paul Stokes), Emma McDonald (Anna Lamb) and Wilf Scolding (Gabriel Lamb) alongside returning cast, Ashley Cook (Doctor James Bell), Alice Kerrigan (Emily), Jessica Regan (Matilda 'Matty' Blackwell) and Fiona Skinner (Polly Stokes). The production opens at Wilton's Music Hall on 7 June, with previews from 5 June, and runs until 29 June.

The production opens at Southwark Playhouse on 5 October, with previews from 3 October, and runs until 27 October.

The Bolshoi Ballet LE CORSAIRE will be at the National Centre for the Performing Arts on May 18 through May 20. This production is choreographed by Marius Petipa and will be presented in three acts. 

In a new production commissioned by the Finborough Theatre to mark the 150th anniversary of T. W. Robertson's 1867 comedy - and the first UK production in over 20 years - Caste plays at the Finborough Theatre for nine Sunday and Monday evenings and Tuesday matinees from Sunday, 2 April 2017.

On May 5, at 17:00 Moscow time [14:00 GMT], the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, conducted by People's Artist of Russia Valery Gergiev, held the 'Pray for Palmyra. Music Revives Ancient Ruins' concert on the stage of Palmyra's world-famous amphitheater.

Pianist Maurizio Pollini will return to the New York Philharmonic for the first time since 1994 to join Music Director Alan Gilbert and the Orchestra for a one-night-only performance of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1, tonight, October 16, 2015, at 8:00 p.m. The program also includes Berlioz's Le Corsaire Overture and Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet, Overture-Fantasy.

The program also features Narong Prangcharoen's Phenomenon and Saint-Saens' Piano Concerto No. 3 performed by pianist Jean-Philippe Collard.

World-renowned tenor Anthony Kearns was featured in a special presentation of Gioachino Rossini's masterpiece, Petite Messe Solennelle, at the St. Carthage's Cathedral in Lismore, Ireland on Sunday, June 3, 2012. Kearns' performance was his second with the Lismore Opera Festival.

St Stephen's, Hampstead, which has lain derelict for over thirty years, returns triumphantlyto life on 17 March 2009 when burgeoning young theatre company Antic Disposition commences an artistic residency and breathes new life into the building. Following its 4 million refurbishment, it will reopen with a Second Chances themed season, comprising The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Much Ado About Nothing and A Christmas Carol.
