Anne Sweeney, who oversaw 18 years of tremendous growth and success of Disney's global entertainment and news properties and who helped shepherd the television industry into the digital age, today announced that she would be departing The Walt Disney Company [NYSE: DIS] in January of 2015 to pursue a career in Television Directing. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for the world-premiere historical drama Camp David, penned by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Lawrence Wright and directed by Artistic Director Molly Smith. Based on true events surrounding the 1978 Camp David Accords, the play follows the 13-day meeting between President Jimmy Carter, Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat as they attempted to create the impossible: peace in the Middle East. The production features Tony Award nominee Hallie Foote (Broadway's Dividing the Estate) as Rosalynn Carter, Egyptian actor and activist Khaled Nabawy (Kingdom of Heaven, Fair Game) as Anwar Sadat, Tony Award winner Ron Rifkin (Alias, Broadway's Cabaret) as Menachem Begin and Emmy Award winner Richard Thomas (The Waltons) as President Jimmy Carter. Camp David runs March 21-May 4, 2014 in the Kreeger Theater.

Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research hosted its signature fundraiser, the Angel Ball, on Tuesday, October 29th at Cipriani Wall Street. The black-tie benefit, hosted by Grammy-nominated song writer Denise Rich featured a cocktail reception, dinner, live musical performances, a paddle raise and both live and online auctions raising nearly $3 million for the Foundation's research initiatives. This year's gala honored three individuals for their outstanding philanthropic contributions to cancer research. Supermodel Karolina Kurkova presented Simon de Pury, Chairman, de Pury de Pury with an award for his dedication to raising much needed funds for cancer research. Hugh Jackman along with his wife Deborra-lee Furness honored Deborra-lee's mother, Fay Duncan, President of the Fight Cancer Foundation in Australia and Ethan Zohn took the stage to talk about how research and the work of Clay B. Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) has announced it will be producing the Midwest Premiere of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID. Based on the beloved, best-selling Disney animated feature Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID will make its Main Stage premiere in 2014. Based on a Japanese legend, MU is a beguiling tale both otherworldly and deeply personal. Three performances take place in Kanbar Hall tonight, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28 at 8 pm, with a 2 pm matinee on Sunday, Sept. 29, to be followed by a national tour.
