The American Liszt Society Chicago/Midwest Chapter will be celebrating Franz Liszt's 205th birthday, with 'Liszt Times Two, A Celebration of Piano Music by Franz Liszt for Four Hands', Today, October 22, 2016 at 7:30 pm, Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave., Evanston, IL. Composer Franz Liszt (1811-1886) is known for his virtuosic pianism and his forward-looking piano compositions. Many of Liszt's compositions and transcriptions are among the most challenging pieces in the piano repertoire. This program will feature Liszt's piano duo compositions performed by some of Chicagoland's finest pianists.

Beginning 16 October, Hauser Wirth & Schimmel will present a comprehensive exhibition of the renowned Dadaists Kurt Schwitters (1887 - 1948) and Hans Arp (1886 - 1966), in the context of works by the Spanish painter, graphic artist and sculptor Joan Miro (1893 - 1983). 'Schwitters Miro Arp' was first curated for Hauser & Wirth Zurich in Summer 2016 to celebrate the centenary of the Dada movement in the city of its birth. The new iteration of this group show will include a significant addition of works by Hans Arp - the first large-scale treatment of works by Arp in Los Angeles.

The Riant Theatre, a nonprofit theatre providing a nurturing environment to playwrights and theatremakers of diverse cultural backgrounds, proudly presents the 2016 Strawberry One-Act and Theatre Festival. The Festival opens on July 14th and runs through July 31st. Each festival evening will feature a program of one to four plays out of twenty-nine one-act works presented in competition, and on selected evenings, one of four full-length plays. All performances are presented at the Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street, between 9th and 10th Avenue).

Church bells tolled as the sound of horse hooves on cobblestone echoed to set the stage at Onstage in Bedford this weekend for the opening of Jekyll & Hyde. A twist on the classic tale of one man's struggle to conquer his inner demons, this musical version of Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 tale was adapted for the stage by Steve Cuden and Frank Wildhorn. Over the past century there have been innumerable adaptations of the original novella, including over 120 versions written for stage and film. The actors and production team of Onstage continued this time honored tradition this weekend to sold out audiences.
