Eiko Ishioka, costume designer for SPIDER-MAN, is nominated for a 2013 Academy Award for her costume designs for Mirror, Mirror. Ishioka passed away last year after losing a battle with pancreatic cancer on January 21 in Tokyo. She was 73 years old. The 10-foot tall Gibson guitar art sculptures that have lined THE SUNSET STRIP will end their year-long tour on Friday, February 22 when they are auctioned for charity at a gala event at Bonhams in Los Angeles. All proceeds from this auction will benefit the Los Angeles Fund For Public Education's "Arts Matter" campaign, which supports art and music education in L.A. public schools.

Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today a call for submissions for its second annual Frontiers new works showcase to be held during the 2014 Fort Worth Opera Festival. A pioneering leader in the production of contemporary opera, FWOpera launched Frontiers in the 2012-2013 season. One of the only programs world-wide designed to seek out unproduced works by up-and-coming composers from North, South, and Central America, the showcase provides composers and librettists a platform by which to gain exposure for their pieces in a live performance environment while also affording them valuable networking opportunities with industry professionals, including artistic directors of opera companies, artist managers, classical music publishers, funding organizations, and conductors.

Driving Miss Daisy, currently on tour until December 2012, will extend its national tour to April 2013 due to popular demand. The critically acclaimed production, presented by Julian Stoneman Associates, in association with Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, follows sell-out runs on Broadway and in the West End. Driving Miss Daisy is the Pulitzer prize-winning play by Alfred Uhry and this production stars Gwen Taylor as Daisy Werthan, Don Warrington as Hoke Coleburn and Ian Porter as Boolie Werthan.

The beloved ballet tells the story of a little girl named Clara who is given a magical nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve. She encounters the frightful King Rat before embarking on a wondrous journey through the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets. Young and old alike will experience the many special effects, including the Christmas tree which "grows" to 40 feet, 200 pounds of "snow" falling during the snow scene, and the firing of cannon onstage.
