Set firmly in, and often about, New York, Company follows five married, once married, or soon to be married couples and their mutual friend, Robert, a 35-year old bachelor who has been unable to connect in a long-term relationship. Bobby observes the less than ideal aspects of commitment. But, eventually, learns that while relationships aren't perfect, they are a necessary part of "Being Alive." Includes the songs "Getting Married Today," "The Ladies Who Lunch," and "Being Alive."



Opening on Broadway in 1970 and running 705 performances, garnering 14 Tony Award Nominations, and winning 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book, Best Score, Best Lyrics. Revived on Broadway in 1995 running for 60 performances garnering 2 Tony Nominations. Revived again in 2006 running 246 performances garnering 3 Tony Nominations and winning for Best Revival of a Musical.

York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director), celebrating the legendary librettist and lyricist Tom Jones with Musicals in Mufti: The Tom Jones Festival, has announced that Graham Rowat (Guys and Dolls) will join previously announced Tom Jones (The Fantasticks), Stephanie Umoh (Ragtime, York's Falling for Eve) and Susan Watson (Follies) in the series opener, The Show Goes On, a portfolio of theater songs by Mr. Jones and his longtime collaborator Harvey Schmidt directed by Pamela Hunt.

Walt Disney Company Releases Statement on Death of Robert Sherman

Disney songwriter Robert B. Sherman died yesterday, March 5, in London. The Academy and Grammy Award winner, who is honoured along with his brother Richard Sherman with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, was 86. Robert A. Iger, President and CEO, The Walt Disney Company released the following statement on his passing:

High Line Art Features ROOF PIECE, 6/9-10

High Line Art, presented by Friends of the High Line, and the Trisha Brown Dance Company are pleased to present Trisha Brown's seminal work Roof Piece as part of High Line Art's spring 2011 program. The event marks the culmination of the 40th anniversary of the Trisha Brown Dance Company and the first time the piece will be performed in its original context, outdoors on rooftops, since its premiere in 1971. Trisha Brown's Roof Piece will be performed on roofs of buildings surrounding the southern section of the High Line on June 9 and 10 at 7:00pm, and twice on June 11 at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, June 12th.
