Boz Scaggs, whose phenomenally successful 1976 breakthrough album ?Silk Degrees? (re-released in 2007) sold over four million copies, reached number two on the album charts and spawned hit singles including the smash ?Lido Shuffle? and the Grammy winning ?Lowdown,? will play Hennepin Theatre Trust?s State Theatre, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2009. The concert will highlight the talented soul, rock and, lately, jazz vocalist, guitarist and songwriter performing many of his greatest hits with a full band. An opening act will be announced later. Country music star, CMA Winner, ACM Winner and four-time Grammy Nominee Joe Nichols has been offered the role made famous by George Strait in the Broadway production of the hit movie, Pure Country. According to producer Randall L. Wreghitt, the musical is in the process of securing the remainder of its financing and casting, and plans to open in early 2010.

Music arranger Angela Morley, who won Emmys for arranging two of Julie Andrews television specials has died at 84 in Scottsdale, Arizona. She's said to have passed away from complications of a fall and a subsequent heart attack.
The three-time Emmy winner, also received Oscar nominations for adaptaing the songs in the musicals 'The Little Prince' and 'The Slipper and the Rose'
