The Mighty Caesar to Present ONE WITH EVERYTHING at Edinburgh Fringe
The Mighty Caesar will present One With Everything, created and performed by Caesar at ASSEMBLY GEORGE SQUARE OMNITORIUM, running 2 - 28 August as part of Edinburgh Fringe 2017.
Strange physical theatre with soul-lined theatrics and odd feats. Awkward stories and acrobatics with heart. Perceptions change when upside down, laughter is enlightening and cartwheels are good for the soul. Weaving magic through character, narrative, and pure comedy, One With Everything is a hybrid of physical theatre, mime, dance, acrobatics, jokes, music and storytelling that dives into an altered-state universe while frolicking in themes of love, desire, masculinity and whales...
One With Everything is a fresh new Melbourne show that permeates a unique style of acrobatic weirdness and joyful audience interaction. It is created and performed by Caesar, a Melbourne based artist whose time is spent performing, teaching and wowing audiences with clownish charisma.
"We want to bring the whimsy back to physical theatre" says Caesar, "So many shows aim to leave audiences with a serious take home message, whereas we make people laugh till their sides hurt and joy springs from their hearts."
Caesar first started performing over 10 years ago. Doing short films and working in the amateur scene. He has worked with Zen Zen zo in Brisbane; participating in their internship, whilst also performing in their Matilda award winning show The Tempest, as well as Gaia.
Following his dream he went and studied at Le Coq for two years in Europe. Allowing him the opportunity to expand his skills and perform in Paris and Barcelona in various cabarets and festivals. Both in solos shows and directing ensembles.
While travelling he also worked numerous times with Dairakudakan in Japan, and receiving the great honor to perform with the amazing company on stage, as well as learning from the Butoh masters.
The years have seen him hone his skills to focus on circus arts and Butoh and combining them into his physical theatre. His practice in circus gives him a greater awareness, and is the basis of all his research of movement, physicality and its relation to theatre.
Since returning to Melbourne from his travels in Europe he has founded a Physical Theatre Company, creating a number successful shows in Melbourne, Hotel Limbo, AmoéR and Lacrima.
