Paul James Corrigan Returns To The King's Panto Following a fabulous performance in last year's critically acclaimed production of Sleeping Beauty, Paul James Corrigan will return to this year's King's Theatre pantomime as The Palace Guard - oh yes he will!

Joining the previously confirmed Elaine C Smith as Widow Twankey and Johnny Mac as Wishee Washee, the River City star takes the stage from Saturday 1 December 2018 until Sunday 6 January 2019 for this year's spectacular panto, Aladdin.

Paul-James Corrigan is perhaps best-known as Stevie Burns in River City and Adam in Gary Tank Commander, a character he also played live at the SSE Hydro. Paul is no stranger to pantomime and theatre. He also returns to the King's to star in Sunshine on Leith from Monday 18 June 2018.

One of Scotland's best-known actresses and comedy entertainers, Elaine C Smith has starred in numerous roles in popular television and theatre shows throughout her career including City Lights, Naked Video and Rab C. Nesbitt as well as stage appearances as Susan Boyle in the musical I Dreamed a Dream and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. Elaine has recently been seen in the third series of the critically acclaimed BBC Scotland sitcom Two Doors Down as Christine. She will return to the King's later this month to star in Kay Mellor's Fat Friends the Musical.

Johnny made his King's debut in Sleeping Beauty last year and will now continue to create the magic and mischief which proved so popular in last year's pantomime. The award-winning funny man has been starring in pantomimes across the country for more than 15 years and regularly entertains across the globe on cruise ships and in holiday resorts. He has performed summer seasons at the famous Hippodrome in Great Yarmouth for the past eight years. Johnny also plays one-half of Francie and Josie in a critically-acclaimed tribute to Rikki Fulton and Jack Milroy.

The King's Theatre pantomime will be produced by Qdos Entertainment, the world's biggest pantomime producer, for the second year.

Packed with all of the traditional ingredients King's Theatre audiences have come to expect, Aladdin will be sparkling with laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning scenery, beautiful costumes and plenty of boos and hisses.

James Haworth, Theatre Director at the King's, said: "We are ecstatic that Paul-James Corrigan will be joining us for another panto season. He was hilarious in Sleeping Beauty as the evil Slimeball and we know he'll have the audience in fits of boos and hisses all over again."
